In Kirov, unique training in the VR region will be used for children with developmental features

In January 2022, in Kirov, employees of a sports club for children and adolescents with the developmental features of without borders will launch the Special Training project, which is aimed at preparing special children for sports inclusion.

– We have been engaged in sports inclusions for two years, training children with serious diseases. They were faced with the fact that it is difficult for children with disabilities to immediately move on to inclusive training. To make them comfortable, they need preparatory classes in which they will get used to the situation, remember the necessary movements and rules. Our project will help special children comfortably enter the inclusive format, form long -lived teams and improve the quality of training, shared Julia Shishkina, head of ANO SK Dipor without borders.

In Kirov, there is no system of preparing children with disabilities for inclusive training. Therefore, the club employees decided to create a project that will adapt children.

– 90% of our wards (80 children) – with heavy and complex pathologies. Their psycho-physical resources are not enough for the development of a new social environment, and rules, and movements immediately. Physical skills are developed slowly, on the simplest elements (take a club, throw the ball, sit down) for several months. Many of them are hard to communicate, listen to the coach, perform tasks, and maintain motivation.

For 5 months for 40 special children, 640 training will be held in 8 sports (football, basketball, mini-golf, opp, table tennis, taekwondo, voltage, Scandinavian walking). 8 competitions will be held (1 in each sport), several events to adapt to a new environment and sports, a sports holiday.

In addition to the usual, 160 training with the use of the VR complex will be held, which is a recognized rehabilitation method, but in Kirov this method was not used before.

12 volunteers who will be trained by club coaches will help children in training. The main coaching composition (4 people) will be held advanced training at the FSBEI in the Kirov GMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

The club employees believe that this will help children not only advance in sports, but also increase their level of independence and socialization.
